Sit Sketch with Martha Ferguson

Join us for a relaxed and inspiring ​e​vening of drawing at the​ Lightner Museum with local artist Martha Ferguson. The event will begin with a demonstration and artist talk, where Martha will share her process for selecting subjects and areas of focus.

Following the demo​nstration, participants are invited to explore and sketch freely throughout the museum’s second-floor galleries, drawing inspiration from the ​a​rchitecture and objects on view.

​Seating will be provided. Artists must bring their own supplies. Suggested materials include graphite pencils and colored pencils​, a hard sketchpad or a travel easel. Please note that paint, pastels, or other wet media are not permitted in the galleries.

Whether you're an experienced artist or simply looking to slow down and observe, this is a great opportunity to connect with art through sketching in a welcoming, creative environment. Light refreshments will be provided to enjoy while artists take a break. Only water in a closed container will be permitted into the galleries.
