Painting from Nature: Watercolor Painting with Erin Hellmann

Experience a creative evening at the Lightner Museum with an all-levels watercolor workshop led by artist Erin Hellmann. The evening will begin with an inspiring walk through the museum’s garden, where artists will have the chance to photograph and sketch the surrounding flowers and greenery. The group will head indoors for a guided painting session, using their sketches and photos as the foundation for a personalized watercolor artwork. Perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike, this workshop offers a relaxing way to explore both nature and creativity.
$40 per person | $20 Lightner Museum Members
Pre-registration is required. Watercolor supplies will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring a sketchbook as well as any specific supplies they would like to use. Light refreshments will be provided.
About the Aritst: Erin Hellmann is a watercolor artist deeply inspired by coastal living, travel, and the vibrant connection between the moon and the sea. Originally from Maryland, she spent seven years along the Delaware beaches before recently relocating to the Jacksonville, Florida area. She earned her degree in Art Education from Towson University and, after several years teaching in classrooms in both Baltimore and Costa Rica, transitioned to full-time artistry in 2020. Erin now creates original paintings, prints, and paper goods, and leads workshops that invite participants to explore watercolor in a relaxed, beginner-friendly setting.
