What’s A Hobby? Papermaking & Bookmarks

Join a Lightner Educator in exploring the hobby of reading by making handmade paper and creating a bookmark. Participants will explore museum exhibits, learn about the history of paper, and create their own paper to take home. It is going to be a real page turner!
This workshop is for children ages 5-10 years old. Parents must remain with their children for the duration of the workshop.
$5 per child | Household Members Free

Guardians interested in exploring the Lightner after the program will receive a discounted admission price of $12. Children under the age of 11 receive free admission to the Lightner Museum galleries.
Pre-registration is required. Participants should arrive five minutes before the workshop starts, and can meet the educator in the lobby at the front.
What’s A Hobby? is a series of family workshops that use the Lightner Museum’s collection and building to explore hobbies and collecting. Founded in 1948 as the Lightner Museum of Hobbies, the museum has its origins in the hobby boom that swept America in the early twentieth century.
